Beautiful babies

I had the pleasure, today , of being able to have 2 little models to play with. My sister's gorgeous little girl and her girlfriends baby. I am rather pleased with the result and I hope the mum's will be too. This is my very first baby shoot. I hope one day , if I get any good of course, that I will be able to spend more time doing this sort of thing and less time doing the things I wish I didnt have to do. I will include pictures of my niece but out of privacy to the other family I wont include those until I have permission.

Here are some of my favourites.

Beautiful baby girl

Gotta love these big blue eyes!

And finally it is all just too much.........sleep takes over.

....and she is still beautiful.

Touch

This is one of my favourite shots from this trip. It was simply two monkeys laying in the sun holding hands. I loved the fingernails and the smooth palms. It goes to show how important touch is for all of us, monkey or man. Simple but I love it.

My favourite baby monkey

This little one was my all time favourite monkey! I could have just popped him in my bag and brought him home with me

My favourite, the monkeys!

The baby monkeys were the cutest things ever!
Tiny wrinkled faces and fluffy hair. They were very quick and very hard to snap with the camera because as soon as you lined up your shot they ran off at a hundred miles an hour!
One of the mother monkeys even had tiny twin babies!

The mothers are very protective of the little ones. I loved the way they seem to be a great big family. Plenty of bickering too!

The sit and groom each other, hug each other, and run around like they are mental.

We even had the pleasure of watching a few of them playing in a water hole. They were climbing up the tree and dive bombing on each other when any of them tried to have a drink. They are very good swimmers! I have to say I have never given any thought to whether a monkey can swim or not but now I know they can.

Lizards

The lizards in indonesia were amazing. Big, colourful and extremely docile. there skin is very peculiar to touch as it feels like sequins rather than the hard scaly feel I thought they would have.

I got to hold one in my arms. They are not quite as heavy as they look. Suprised me a little as I expected them to be heavy. Probably the same weight as a toy poodle.

This was a different lizard to the orange one but still about the same size.

lion cubs

The big cats are always so awesome to see. this little lion cub was onlly about 1 metre from me.

Carefully watching everyone and growling at the odd person who thought patting her would be a good idea.

The big lion was calling for her and she was roaring back to him in her baby voice.

Tigers

Ok, I am back. A couple more of my all time favourite animals.

To be honest, I hate to see these beautiful animals pinned up in small enclosures.

They seemed in good shape and were happily swimming and playing in the water but then you also see them pacing up and down.

It must be so hard for them if they are feeling peckish and they can smell the deer and the antelope etc just a few enclosures away.
They seemed to have a lot of deer at the zoo so I presume they are on the big cats diet!

He did look like he was licking his lips so perhaps he would prefer some aussie meat instead of deer for a change!
They had a white tiger at the zoo also.I also took some snaps of him.

They are also beautiful but I have to say I just love the colours of the tiger. The blue eyes are pretty but the real tiger eye amber colour is just gorgeous.
They also have the most wonderfully big paws.
It is hard to imagine that they would happily rip you to pieces. They appear so sweet and harmless as they stroll pass.

Some pictures from Bali

I returned from Bali this morning. It was so much fun I wish I didnt have to come home!

I am looking forward to taking my boys over to Bali sometime before the end of this year. We will have to see how we go saving money. Anyway, I thought I would share some of my photos for you. I took several in the zoo and the monkey forrest. Here are a few of them.

The first couple are of the bats. I have never been this close to a bat before. They dont seem to be quite as scary as I thought the might be up close. Not a vampire tooth in sight!

In fact they look cute enough to pat, but I didnt. I am not crazy you know! What if it woke up!

I have more to share, obviously but it will have to be in several sections as the blogger is having problems uploading pictures at the moment.

Being that my patience with computers doesnt exist at all, I will have to return later.
